ShotKeep Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
ShotKeep is a lightweight Mac menu bar screenshot organizer. It helps you capture selected areas of your screen, save screenshots into projects and categories, and optionally recognize text in screenshots with local OCR.
No data collection
ShotKeep does not collect, track, upload, sell, or share any personal information.
We do not collect your screenshots, OCR text, project names, category names, folder paths, usage analytics, device identifiers, crash reports, or any other app data.
Fully offline
ShotKeep is designed to work completely offline. Your screenshots and recognized text stay on your Mac. The app does not require an account, a cloud service, or a network connection to use its core features.
Local storage
Screenshots are saved as regular PNG files in folders you choose or configure on your Mac. OCR output, when enabled, is stored locally next to your screenshots. You control these files and can move, back up, sync, or delete them using Finder or any storage service you choose.
If you use a third-party cloud drive, backup tool, or file sync service with your ShotKeep folder, that service may process files according to its own privacy policy. ShotKeep itself does not send your data to HamsterBase or any third party.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if ShotKeep changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
